Event description

Description

For the first time in our odyssey to create a Latino Theatre District in Spanish Harlem, The El Barrio Theatre Group has received a small grant from LMCC & UMEZ to produce “The Mambo Café” at The Black Box Theater at El Museo del Barrio, 1230 Fifth Avenue, 3rd Floor. I urge my Friends to attend. $25 is a small price to pay to support ELBA’s efforts to produce uniquely Nuyorican Theatre in El Barrio.

"The Mambo Café" to witness what happens when 3 Latina Ladies, out for a night of drinking, dancing, and merry making, meet; Moncho, the owner of the Bar who was once in the Young Lords; Louie, a frustrated Nuyorican Poet; and Raoul a drunk attorney who tells dirty jokes.

We are producing 12 performances of The Mambo Café in October, every Friday & Saturday at 7pm except the 19th, and Every Sunday at 3PM in October. Opening night is Thursday, October 3rd, and last night is Sunday the 27th. Bring your friends, bring your wife, bring your friends wife. We need all the help we can get.

Produced by: Luis Cordero Santoni
Directed by Frank Peréz
Written by: The great and wonderful Eugene Rodriguez,

Featuring an All Star Cast of:
Herbie Q, as Moncho
