About The Band:

“Johnny Bulldog” is made up of four musicians from Whidbey Island, Johnny “Bulldog” Tristao on lead vocals and guitar Kevin Johnson on lead guitar and vocals Jimi “The Slayer” Schlegel on drums and vocals and Marc Strader on bass and vocals.

Johnny was lead singer and rhythm guitarist with Creedence Clearwater Revisited touring the world with them and selling over a million copies of the live album “Recollection”. Retiring in 2016 he now does “Johnny Bulldog” full time. Johnny was also lead singer and drummer of the band “People” who had a top ten hit in 1968 with “I Love You” selling four million copies. Johnny Bulldog currently has three CD’s and one DVD for sale on the market.

Kevin Johnson has been playing guitar for more than thirty years and was CCR’s first guitar tech. Kevin designed and pioneered Microsoft’s state of the art recording facility and engineered many of their commercials and film productions. He is a top flight engineer and has worked on the television shows “Sell This House” and “Hoarders”. Kevin engineered and/or mixed all of Johnny Bulldog’s Cd’s and DVD and contributed to the writing and arranging of the songs.

Jimi “The Slayer” Schlegel has been a touring drummer and singer for many years from coast to coast and is and accomplished musician who is currently the music teacher at Hillview elementary school in Oak Harbor. Besides being a superb singer and showman Jimi knows just what beats and rhythms are necessary to make the songs pop. Jimi also sings and drums with local band “Deception Connection”.

Marc Strader has been on “Johnny Bulldog’s” radar for a long time they finally managed to recruit him this year. Marc is, according to JB, an absolute groove machine and has a bass vocabulary rarely seen, playing any and all styles that are needed. Marc also plays with the band “Pete” locally and works on the Washington State Ferry System.

“Johnny Bulldog” plays all styles of music including an all acoustic “Beatles” show and currently has a CD out featuring 15 classic Beatle songs called “Hey Bulldog”. Johnny Bulldog is known for their driving beat and vocal harmonies and they have one motto, “You bring the venue, we’ll bring the party”.
