Up and coming acts, Colorado's The Magic Beans and Arizona's Spafford, have both been climbing the ranks of the jam world of late and have announced a 2-night New Year's run post-Phish at New York City venue American Beauty, which is conveniently located around the corner from Madison Square Garden. On Friday, Dec. 30th, Spafford will headline with The Magic Beans opening the late-night show, and on Saturday, Dec. 31st, roles will be reversed as Spafford will support a headlining set from the Beans.
The Magic Beans have been making big waves in their home state of Colorado for some time now, with their unique genre-blending sound and exciting shows. Since starting to tour just couple of years ago, they’ve caught the eyes and ears of many music lovers nationwide. Scott Hachey (Guitars/Vocals), Chris Duffy (Bass/Vocals), Casey Russell (Keys/Vocals), and Jason Kincaid (Drums) creatively invoke hints of your favorite live acts while managing to come across with a sound that is distinctly their own.
Spafford is a 4-piece funk rock band, hailing from Arizona. Made up of Brian Moss (Guitar), Jordan Fairless ( Bass), Red Johnson (Keys), and Nick Tkachyk (Drums), the band needs to be heard to be understood. The core of Spafford’s identity is their special ability to improvise. Jams typically extend way past their normal structure, as the band reaches for unique and different sounds every time they play. Their live performances are filled with non-stop musical adventures rooted in high energy and deep listening by all four members.
Early-bird tickets will be on sale as of Wednesday, Oct. 5th at 12pm EDT, with a general on sale scheduled for Friday, Oct. 7th.
A limited allotment of 2-day passes will be available as well.
This is a 21+ event.
