Event description
Soprano Laura Bohn and pianist Hadley McCarroll in Recital, with a Festival Opera Commissioned World Premiere

About this Event

Heralded by the SF Chronicle as “an amazing blend of vocal splendor and physical virtuosity,” soprano Laura Bohn opens our 2021 Artist Recital Series with a Festival Opera commissioned World Premiere.

As the sirens wail outside, a mother searches for the right song to calm her restless baby and herself; her lullaby transforms into something else as she brings the whole world into the room for healing through her song. The Lullaby Project is created by composer Kamala Sankaram, librettist Guillermo Calderón, and directed by Elkhanah Pulitzer. The first half of this program includes a sparkling selection of song repertoire, sung with pianist Hadley McCarroll, from composers Claude Debussy, Francis Poulenc, and George Crumb.

- A complimentary wine reception for artists and audience will follow the performance.
