You are warmly invited to join us at the next Looking Glass, a networking event for women leaders, taking place at the Village Hotel, Farnborough on the 18th July at 9.30 - 11.30am. The Looking Glass is delighted to be able to host inspirational speaker, Virginia Crosbie. Virginia will talk about the campaign she leads to help ensure that women are represented at every level of politics and in public life in the UK.

About Virginia Crosbie

Virginia started her career as a dolphin trainer with Terry Nutkins (Animal Magic, BBC 1). Leaving Colchester County High Grammar School, Virginia became the first person in her family to take A levels and go to university where she studied microbiology. Virginia worked in the pharmaceutical industry for GlaxoWellcome and then as a leading pharmaceutical analyst at UBS and HSBC. Following a successful business career Virginia, retrained as a teacher and for the last four years has taught maths to disadvantaged adults in her North Kensington community.

Virginia runs Make It Your Business events for business entrepreneurs at the Grenfell Assistance Centre and mentors for the charity IntoUniversity.

As Director of Women2Win Virginia leads the campaign to encourage representation by women at every level of public life in the UK. Virginia stood as the prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Rhondda in the 2017 General Election, achieving the highest increase in vote share (+58%) across the country with a digital campaign and a budget of just £300.

Virginia is Deputy Chair of the Kensington, Chelsea and Fulham Conservative Association and is Social Mobility Champion for the Conservative Policy Forum.

The Looking Glass networking session

Please make sure you bring your business cards for the network session to share with new connections. You will be encouraged to use the hour-long network session to get to know other, make useful contacts and, of course, to promote your own business/organisation.

The session will be facilitated for 45 minutes, followed by 15 minutes when you will be free to meet up with other Looking Glass participants.

Five minute Hot Topic session

Speaker TBC - this will be an industry insight by one of the network participants.
