The Loaf: November 2021
Event Information
About this event
It's that time again!
With the support of GameTheory, The Loaf is back and better than ever! Catering, a central location, great people and great conversation abound. Free to attend! Free to present! Now with microtalks by other local developers to inspire and inform!
"But wait... what's The Loaf?"
The Loaf is a series of meetups for local gamedevs! What started as an event hosted by Sundae Month (Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor, Dad Quest, Pupperazzi) has spun off and created it's own independent meetup community. Bring your games to show off (please see below for how to submit) or simply bring yourself and take part in the discussion and make new connections.
In a time where folks are so close yet so distant, our mission (as always) is to fan the flames of community spirit and encourage collaboration and informed critique.
We have a Patreon to help cover expenses and expand the events to new horizons! Please check out the "How to Support" section below to learn more.
*ATTENTION: All presentation and talk slots have been filled. Please consider submitting at the next Loaf!*
If you have a game you'd like to show, please send an email to TheLoafVT [at] gmail [dot] com and tell us about your project! Since there are limited spaces for demos, please act quickly. If you set up your game at the event without asking first, we will ask you to put it away.
NEW: We have three slots available for microtalks! These are 10 minute maximum talks about any sort of game-related topics. We welcome the weird and conceptual to the niche and precise. Please send your submissions to TheLoafVT [at] gmail [dot] com for approval. It doesn't have to be a full talk, even something as broad as "I love car games" could be a talk!
This is an alcohol-free event to allow for students and high school age folks to attend. Hobbyists, career developers, and the simply curious are welcome. All kinds of games are valid (including tabletop and physical) but you are responsible for bringing your own hardware.
To reiterate this point... all projects are welcome, especially work in progress! If we have any concerns about the content or form of your project, we are willing to work with you to find an effective way to present it at The Loaf.
