METROPOLIS ENSEMBLE PRESENTS

THE LIVING EARTH SHOW

The Living Earth Show performs works written for them by composers, each of whom was born in, immigrated to, or utilizes the musical traditions created within the current borders of the United States, as part of Christopher Cerrone’s Reiterations series with Metropolis Ensemble

The second concert of Christopher Cerrone's Reiterations series with Metropolis Ensemble features The Living Earth Show, performing works written for them by some of the most vital living composers, each of whom was born in, immigrated to, or utilizes the musical traditions created within the current borders of the United States. Featuring works by Dennis A. Aman, Sahba Aminikia, Christopher Cerrone, Ravon Chacon, Luciano Chessa, Sarah Hennies, Nicole Lizée, and Daniel Wohl.

The show investigates the role of geography in shaping musical language. The collaborators built this program to ask the question: what does it mean for music, culture, or individuals to be considered "American" in 2018?

Doors open at 6:30pm, show at 7:00pm.

Because of the generous support of our followers, Metropolis Ensemble is thrilled to offer our pop-up venue at 1 Rivington as a place for new projects and works of music to take shape, at little to no cost to our artists. Select artists are given the opportunity not only to share finished works, but to use this platform to craft ideas into tangible realities.
