Event description
This 4-week prayer experience invites you on a journey of the soul as we explore the liturgical year.

About this event

The liturgical year, beginning on the first Sunday of Advent and carrying through the following November, is the year that sets out to attune the life of the Christian to the life of Jesus, the Christ.

What may at first seem to be simply an arbitrary arrangement of ancient holy days, or liturgical seasons, this book explains their essential relationship to one another and their ongoing meaning to us today. It is an excursion into life from the Christian perspective, from the viewpoint of those who set out not only to follow Jesus but to live and think as Jesus did.

Offered on four consecutive Mondays beginning on Monday, June 7th, at either 8:00 am (CLOSED) or 5:00 pm (both Eastern), this 4-week guided prayer experience invites you on a journey of the soul as we pray through the liturgical year. Each small group will meet for 60 minutes and be led by Tom Octave, M.M., an Associate Spiritual Director affiliated with the West Virginia Institute for Spirituality (WVIS).

OFFERING: Once you register, you will be given the opportunity to pay by credit card or to send a check. The requested Donation for this program is $40. All credit cards are assessed a fee for processing. If you choose to pay by credit card, and are able to help us offset this fee, you are invited to add an additional donation of $1.00 (total $41.00) to offset this cost. Please note you will need to purchase the book on your own. It is available from a variety of booksellers and is offered in both paperback and Kindle.

CONFIRMATION: In addition to the confirmation email from Eventbrite, you will receive the Zoom link the week before the program begins. For more information about the program or with questions, contact Tom Octave at

Please note that WVIS is a nonprofit 501c3 organization and you can receive a document for tax purposes at the end of the year.
