The Leading Edge 2014: Heal the Soul, Heal the World
April 26-29, 2014 at Middle Church, NYC
We are thrilled to announce New York Times bestselling author and theologian Marcus Borg (The God We Never Knew), frequent Oprah contributor and Omega founder, Elizabeth Lesser, global visionary and fundraiser Lynne Twist (The Soul of Money), and Moral Courage founder, Irshad Manji as speakers at The Leading Edge Conference 2014: Heal the Soul, Heal the World.
Frequent MSNBC contributor and founder of Groundswell at Auburn Seminary, Valarie Kaur, and community organizer at PICO, Michael-Ray Mathews have also confirmed. And returning this year are Robert Chase, Founding Director of Intersections International, and social ethicist and author Miguel De La Torre, (Reading the Bible from the Margins).
As we create multiethnic, multicultural congregations for people who view the world through an interreligious lens, these thought leaders will help us address justice, community organize, and change the story. Our theme will focus on how we restore our souls so we may create communities of healing.
In addition to our four-day conference, Saturday, April 26 - Tuesday, April 29, we will present a pre-conference Worship Workshop from Friday, April 25 - Saturday, April 26 that will offer practical tools to design artistic worship experiences that build ethnically and culturally diverse congregations. We are excited about our line-up of presenters and we hope you join our learning community in April.

The Middle Project
The Middle Project is a 501(c) 3 not for profit launched by Middle Church. It is an institute that combines education, training and social activism, as we prepare ethical leaders for a just society. The Middle Project unites progressive leaders who are ready for a revolutionary and prophetic way of using power, information, and resources to act locally and think globally to heal the human family.
The Middle Project takes its strength and approach from the progressive faith traditions that have played a major role in America’s greatest democratic achievements: the abolition of slavery, civil rights, universal suffrage, and the anti-war movement.
The Middle Project sponsors conferences, conducts research, creates resources, offers consulting services and conducts leadership laboratories for young adults and teens, as it works to heal the world.
