Kim Coleman is an artist working predominantly in expanded moving image, light installation and camera-less photography. She will be talking about her practice and recent projects, focusing on how her work creates dialogues with ideas around fashion.
Kim has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. She has been commissioned to make works for Block 336 (London) in collaboration with artist Laura Buckley, Kings Cross Granary Square (London) and MSDOCKVILLE (Hamburg). Projects with collaborative partner Jenny Hogarth include those for Frieze Projects (Frieze London), Glasgow International (Glasgow), and the ICA (London). Kim has worked with bands - including Franz Ferdinand, Django Django, Spoon and Veronica Falls - directing and designing their world / EU and UK touring stage shows. Kim has been a LUX Associate Artist and National Gallery of Scotland Artist Fellow. Kim studied at Edinburgh College of Art and Chelsea College of Art & Design. Kim is a lecturer in the School of Media and Communication at London College of Fashion.
