Event description

Description

On April 28th, only 22 seats are available to experience a very special five-course dinner (plus an amuse bouche), created by a talented, emerging vegan chef from Grand Rapids.

Evan Edwards believes in eating as "close to the land as possible." With a hyper-focus is on what's in-season, his cooking also creatively uses ingredients in many different ways - often in the same dish.

The menu for this limited seating supper club event highlights Evan's culinary point of view which highlights the freshest bioregional ingredients available.

  • Winter Green Pesto Beignets
  • Celeriac Socca with Truffled Sunchoke Puree
  • Braised Oyster Mushrooms with Phyllo and Gravy
  • Wild Rice Bibimbop with Pickled Local Vegetables and Brussels Kimchi
  • Maroon Carrots à l'Arpège
  • Beet Molasses Cake with Ice Cream.

The food is not the only special part of this meal. The location is also very unique. Center, a creative space housed in a historic three-story home in Grand Rapids, serves as the perfect place to immerse yourself in this shared celebration of local food.

The meal is only $40/pp and will sell out very quickly.

The produce for the meal is supplied by Visser Farm in Zeeland, Mi, Mycophile's Garden in Grand Rapids, Carlson-Arbogast Farm in Howard City, and other local agriculturists. In addition to cooking at Grove, Evan is a dad and a teacher at Grand Valley State University. Currently a Doctoral candidate in the Philosophy program at DePaul University, Evan is writing a dissertation on bioregional politics, the culinary arts, and what it means to eat well. He views his academic and culinary work as informing one another.
