Event description

Description

Join us to explore the impact that zip code can have on the health of different communities.

Why does zip code matter?

Where people live can be a bigger predictor of life expectancy than genetics.

Where someone lives, learns, works, and plays is a root cause of health inequity. Income, housing, education, accessibility of nutritious foods and physical activity, transportation access, and environmental hazards directly relate to health outcomes. And, political, social, and economic forces shape these factors and how they interact. Join us to better understand how the landscape of health and quality of life is shaped by systems of oppression and the communities in which we live.
