Event Details

The Kids are All Great takes a look at what today's kids are into and why adults just don't understand, man.

Hosts Reed Kavner and Taylor Lorenz will take a look at what the kids are into—apps, memes, songs, fashion trends—through a lens of empathy and genuine curiosity. You'll hear from experts and actual teens about latest developments in youth culture, leaving a bit hipper and more understanding of kids these days.

Reed Kavner is a comedian, producer, and digital creator who has been working at the intersection of pop culture and technology for ten years, most recently as director of product development at Billboard magazine. Reed was a TruTV Comedy Breakout finalist at the NY Television Festival in 2018 and is the host of Next Slide Please, an all-Powerpoint comedy show.

Taylor Lorenz is a staff writer at The Atlantic, where she covers technology and culture. She's a veritable internet anthropologist embedded in the platforms, communities, and sub-sub-subcultures most beloved by teens. Her greatest hits include surprising explorations of how high school basketball stars leverage social media, soap carving moguls, and Instagram accounts that serve as party invites.
