'Mind Matters' presents: Business Case for Mental Health

The Kennedy Forum 'Mind Matters' is honored to host Craig Kramer, Mental Health Ambassador, Neuroscience External Affairs, and Chair, Global Campaign for Mental Health, Johnson & Johnson. He and his daughter Katharine discussed their family’s struggle with eating disorders on the J&J Parents blog last year.

Mental disorders impose an enormous disease burden on societies throughout the world. Depression alone affects 350 million persons and is the single largest contributor to years lived with disability globally. Worsened by low levels of investment and treatment coverage, mental disorders also have serious economic consequences: depression was estimated to cost at least US$ 800 billion in 2010 in lost economic output, a sum expected to more than double by 2030.

In his 'Mind Matters' discussion, Kramer will discuss the economics of mental illness, the impact on business, and corporate America's role the solution. The session will provide attendees with an issue brief and employer guide, as well as tools to calculate the cost of depression and addiction in your workplace. This session is highly recommended for business leaders and HR professionals.

Doors open at 7:30 a.m. General admission is $45. Memberships available for $500 and $1,000. Valet parking is $15. All seating includes full breakfast bar. Sponsorships are available. Contact Kris Lathan at 312.288.9903 or kris@thekennedyforum.org for details. *NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS: use the last name of the purchaser as the promo code to register at no cost.
