Event Information
Description
Greetings Community Leaders and Community Stakeholders,
On Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm, United States Attorney Jessie K. Liu and Attorney General Karl A. Racine are co-hosting a joint community meeting about “Understanding the Differences between the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia (USAO) and the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) for the District of Columbia”.
Do you know which agency is responsible for prosecuting juveniles in DC? Do you know which agency is responsible for prosecuting adult crimes in DC. Do you know what a Title 16 case is and who handles it? Do you know who prosecutes traffic cases? Which cases are prosecuted in Superior Court? Which cases are prosecuted in District court? How many times have you wondered or asked yourself these or similar questions?
You are cordially invited to join us for an informational session where you will learn the role of the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia and the role of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia. We are dedicated to improving public safety and the quality of life for all residents of the District of Columbia, and we need to work in partnership with our community leaders to accomplish that goal.
This event will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2017 at the Old City Council Chambers, 441 4th St. NW; from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Register online at https://usao-oag.eventbrite.com and contact latoya.davenport@usdoj.gov / (202)415-5489 to request special accommodations. Refreshments will be served.
