Participants will view real life court proceedings to identify victims’ rights violations and discuss methods of addressing the violation at the moment it occurs as well as methods of addressing the issue after the fact. Participants will hear from both a victims’ rights attorney and victim advocate (working under the umbrella attorney-client privilege) regarding their experiences with in-court victims’ rights violations and issues.

PRESENTERS: Jamie Balson, J.D., M.S.W., Crime Victims’ Rights Attorney, Legal Services for Crime Victims in Arizona (LSCVA) & Holly Stokes, Victim Advocate, Legal Services for Crime Victims in Arizona.

ATTORNEYS: This training may qualify for CLE credit.

ADVOCATES: This training may qualify for credit towards the 30-hour training requirement under A.R.S. 12-2239(F), training for DV advocates, and A.R.S. 12-2240(E), training for SV advocates.

SOCIAL WORKERS: This training may qualify for CE credit.

POLICE OFFICERS: This training may quality for AZPOST credit. Ms. Balson is an AZPOST general instructor.

A certificate of attendance will be provided via email at the conclusion of the training. The name you register with is the name that will appear on your certificate.
