Every moment provides us with a new opportunity for a fresh start in all aspects of our lives. The New Year year carries a lot of positive energy to support us in our endeavors to start the year off in a healthy and joyful way.
Knowledge Empowers Wellness brings you yet another powerful retreat to start 2023 off feeling empowered and inspired to make this year the best one of your life!
Community drum circle: Mark Zarrillo, M.A. is a versatile drummer, percussionist, drum circle leader and sound therapy practitioner. Certified "Smile Creator" Eric Korp, M.A. is an enthusiastic wellness educator who has been leading drum circles for more than 10 years. Together, they bring their decades of experience to set the stage for an interactive drumming experience like no other. Using traditional percussion instruments, we will fill our space with positive energy and good vibrations that are sure to move the soul.

Healthy lunch: Chef Randy Colin will be providing a gourmet lunch lovingly-prepared to nourish our bodies. Randy holds a Master of Arts Degree in Integrative Health, has extensive experience as a caterer and personal chef and is currently a high school culinary and baking Instructor.
Master-class in nutrition: Joan Palmer, M.A. has devoted her life to the integration of traditional food wisdom with the science of nutrition, creating an innovative model of holistic health education. In this interactive workshop, you will learn how simple changes that we make to our daily routine can have profound effects on our physical and mental health. Jumpstart your health by making real food your medicine and learn how the art of eating can be joyful, tasty, and Empowering.
Some of what we will cover will include:
- how to eat for resilient health for you and the planet
- how to eat to improve your mood
- how to eat to lower inflammation and improve your immune system.

Meditation: We will ground ourselves and bring balance to the nervous system by infusing the calming and centering practice of meditation throughout our day.
Journaling: We will have the opportunity to reflect on these immersive experiences to deepen our understanding of how they may be used for our empowerment.
