Inspiring Approaches and Practical Tools for Middle and High School Advisors and Homeroom Teachers

All sessions are from 10am - 12pm Pacific, 1pm-3pm Eastern.

Course Outcomes:
- Practical strategies and approaches for being an authentic and accessible Advisor
- A series of experiences and rituals that engage meaningful conversations, personal reflection, and positive group interactions among students, including considerations for adapting for Distance Learning
- Activities that will deepen and promote inter- and intra-personal development, and explore the importance of a structured, but emerging curriculum for Advisory
- Increased confidence in your ability to advise
This inspiring, three-session online course offers new and experienced Advisors the opportunity to build and re-energize their approach and tools for advising. The approaches we will share are highly practical and ‘low-prep, high-impact’. During these uncertain times, we will also offer practices that will nurture Advisory connection both in-person and through Distance Learning, especially for new or reconfigured groups of advisees.
Key concepts that will be covered:
- How to structure time in Advisory
- Practices for emotional Check-Ins
- Practices to nurture advisee and group inter- and intra-personal
- How to build advisee buy-in, engagement, and leadership
- Managing and growing through challenges that arise as an Advisor
The course is highly experiential and participants will have opportunities to collaborate with fellow attendees.
This Online Course is all inclusive and available as three consecutive Sessions only.

Cancellation, Refund and Credit Policy
Registration fees will be refunded at 50% of the registration ticket price paid, less the $50 refund processing cost, if requested in writing more than two-weeks prior to the start of the course.
From two weeks prior to the start of the course until the day before the course begins, refunds requested in writing will be granted a credit for the full value of their registration ticket price.
No refunds or credits are available on or after the start date of the course.

CEU Information
Participants in all IFSEL Events are eligible for CEU Credits from Dominican University. More information about credits will be shared at the start of the course. If you are interested in applying, please let us know after the course is complete. The application will then be sent to you to submit to Dominican University, which administers the process. Please note that Dominican University charges a fee of $55 per CEU unit, or $27.50 for 0.5 Credit. At this time, IFSEL is not able to provide credits for clinical counseling.
