Join us for coffee, pastries and an action-packed morning with the New Pros!

From Bon Secours Mercy Health, Debbie Copeland-Bloom, APR, Director, Executive Communications and Maureen Richmond, APR, Vice President, Integrated Communications will present their PR / Communications backgrounds, how they transitioned into PR, what their roles are today and career learnings and tips they’ve achieved along the way.

All event attendees will enjoy light breakfast and coffee.

Debbie Copeland-Bloom, APR - Director, Executive Communications, Bon Secours Mercy Health

Deb’s 30-year PR career has been in the health care and managed care fields and included positioning and communicating about the closing of a hospital, taking a non-profit to for-profit status and its eventual sale, and “routine” events such as reductions in force, leadership changes and introductions of new programs, services and/or processes. A passionate proponent of accreditation, Deb has served as the Cincinnati chapter’s APR and ethics chairs. She was the 2013 recipient of the chapter’s Werner-VonderHaar-Bogart Award and this past summer earned PRSA’s Reputation Risk Management certificate.

Maureen Richmond, APR - Vice President, Integrated Communications, Bon Secours Mercy Health

Over the last 20 years, Maureen Richmond has facilitated corporate communications and public relations for the largest provider of healthcare in Ohio, managed crisis response for the largest provider of passenger transportation in North America, served as lead speechwriter for the CEO of a major insurance company and worked with national media to promote the world’s largest seasonal theme park.

She currently serves as Vice President, Integrated Communications, for Bon Secours Mercy Health. In this role, she leads a talented team of internal and external communicators responsible for all executive and employee communications, media relations and reputation management. Bon Secours Mercy Health is one of the 20 largest health care systems in the country – and they recently merged with Bon Secours Health System in Ireland, so they’ll add international integration communications to that list as well!

Maureen has served as membership chair and job bank chair for the Cincinnati Chapter of PRSA. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family including husband Tim and three very active children, Joseph (10 ½), Jack (9) and June Marie (7 ½).

The registration deadline (this is also the deadline to cancel and receive a refund) is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25. Please note that due to a new Eventbrite policy, registration and payment fees, which we always include in the price you pay for PRSA events, are no longer being refunded by Eventbrite.

What is the refund policy?

If you need to cancel your reservation, please let us know by Friday, October 25 at 5:00 p.m. Any requests to refund tickets made until this time can be honored. However, we can not refund tickets after this time.

You can cancel your reservation and request a refund online. Please see this page for full instructions on how to cancel your order and request a refund.

Please note that due to a change in the way Eventbrite handles refunds, registration and credit card processing fees, which are always included in the price you pay when registering for a Cincinnati PRSA event, are no longer being refunded. This means that if you choose to refund, the fees portion will no longer be refunded, and your refund will be slightly lower than the price you paid. The fee amount varies based on the price of your registration, but as an example, if you paid $20 for a registration, and request a refund prior to the refund deadline, your refund will be $17.21. When a refund is processed, you will receive an email confirmation, which will confirm the amount of the refund.

Is my registration transferrable?

You can change the information on your registration to another person through your order on Eventbrite, but only if it is for the same ticket type. For example, a nonmember changing the registration information to another nonmember, or a member to another member. You can do so even after the reservation deadline.

Where can I park?

Free parking is available in the Bon Secours Mercy Health Building visitor parking lot.

Can I pay at the event instead of when I register?

Per PRSA Chapter bylaws, non-member reservations must be paid prior to the event. PRSA Cincinnati Chapter members only also have the option to pay at the event, or can send a check as payment prior to the event.

In order to take advantage of this option, register as you normally would. In the payment section of the register page, change the payment method to "pay at the door" or "pay by check". The fields to enter card information will disappear, and you will be able to continue your registration. Please follow the instructions to complete your registration, and click the button to confirm.

For payments made by members at the event, we accept check, cash or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover). If you require an invoice, please use the email confirmation that is sent to you - you may also email cincyprsa@gmail.com, and we can provide an invoice for you.

Please also note, all registrations, including those to be paid at the event, are subject to our reservation and refund policy. Any member not paying in advance who no shows or cancels after the reservation deadline will still be responsible for payment of their ticket.

Do I need to bring a copy of my email confirmation or a ticket?

Shortly after completing your registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite. Receipt of this confirmation means we have you in our system as registered for the event. You do not need to bring a copy of the confirmation email or a ticket.
