Event description
Lewin E&C will educate us on how to recognize our "why" and learn to become an anti-racist family. This is a 2 part series!

About this event

Thank you for registering for “The journey to becoming an Anti-racist Family” two-day workshop May 11 and 18. Thank you for taking the first step towards change, showing courage, and making a commitment. In this time, when the inequities and violence suffered by people of color have been so clearly revealed, it is imperative that any one of good conscious use an anti-racist lens in all aspects of our lives and relationships. You can trust that wherever you are on this journey to anti-racism, we will hold you with care and attention so that each person can realize and be fully engaged in your unique contribution to this wave of change.

The first step in this care and attention is to take some time to feel and reflect. Before attending the training, please find a quiet space and bring your thoughts and your Journal. For your first Journal entry, write exactly how you're feeling about attending the training and your relationship to the word racism. List your anxieties, fears, nervousness, and resistance or whatever you might be feeling. Once you start writing, try not to do much thinking, just let your thoughts flow onto the pages. It is important to name this for yourself to create a pathway for diving deeper into this work. This writing will be confidential; you will not be required to share this entry.

We will continue to invite self-reflection during the workshop, please bring the following items:

1. A journal or a notepad to make journal entries

2. An open heart

3. An open mind

We look forward to seeing you and starting the journey.
