Event description

Description

Join the Vermont QIC-AG team for a FREE summit wrapping up the five year Vermont Permanency Survey Project. You will learn about the thought provoking findings from the survey, learn about recent initiatives in the field of support and health for families joined by Adoption or Guardianship and hear about the improvements to services that are already underway based on our findings from the input of families formed through Adoption and Guardianship. Day Two of the summit will focus on topics for providers who work with families joined by Adoption and Guardianship.

Our Keynote Speaker will be Dawn Wilson, who will present the National Adoption Competency and Mental Health Training Initiative that developed two state-of-the-art, standardized, web-based trainings to build the capacity of child welfare and mental health professionals in all states, tribes, and territories to effectively support children, youth, and their foster, adoptive, and guardianship families.

The day will also include a panel of families formed through adoption and guardianship discussing their experiences with providers and the system across the state, as well as a discussion with April Dinwoodie, a nationally recognized thought leader and transracially-adopted person.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided free of charge throughout the day.
