The Journey: A Women's Fellowship, Inc., is a women's ministry fellowship, also simply known as, The Journey. This is a very unique fellowship opportunity totally dedicated to encouraging women to find their identity, purpose, and calling in Jesus Christ. We seek to show love and compassion, just as Jesus showed love and compassion.

During the year of 2010, LaQuisha Simmons Persak began a small group Bible study in her home for women. The fellowship focused on food, fun, and fellowship. In this casual and free atmosphere, the women grew spiritually, both individually and collectively. The formal creation of this ministry in 2013 was done in an effort to share our fellowship experiences with more women.

Our ministry is focused on growing in the Word of God by simply reading what the Bible has to say. We realized during our time in fellowship that we didn't have this Christian walk all figured out. In fact, we were still learning new things everyday. We began to redirect our focus from so much the destination, but to instead appreciate and live life on the journey!

The Journey is for ALL women seeking to grow in Christ and who are willing to step outside the box into all that God has for them!

Lauren Calmet Miss Tallahassee
Miss Tallahassee USA 2017, Lauren Calmet has a soft spot for Florida's capital city. Lauren is a graduate of Florida State University and has since dedicated herself to advocating for children both in her career and as a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem. As the current Director of Community Affairs & Mobilization for the Florida Coalition for Children, Lauren travels throughout the Sunshine State to advocate on behalf of Florida’s abused, abandoned, neglected, and at-risk children, and to support those who work on their behalf. Lauren also volunteers with the Girl Scout Council of the Florida Panhandle and finds herself continuously counting down the days until cookie season!

Freda King knows about journeys in faith. After all, her life has been one. With her faith, daily prayer, and the love of friends and family, Freda achieved her goals. She has a passion to make a difference working with youth, women and men by helping them to realize their full potential. She encourages others to make positive changes in their lives, and she is giving hope to people who want to pursue their dreams, despite a history of mistakes.
