John Patitucci, bass: John has been at the forefront of the jazz world for the last 30+ years and active in all styles of music. He is a three-time Grammy award winner, has been nominated over fourteen times and has played on many other Grammy award-winning recordings. He has performed and/or recorded with jazz giants such as Dizzy Gillespie, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Stan Getz, Freddie Hubbard, Roy Haynes, Wynton Marsalis, Michael Brecker, Kenny Garrett, Victor Feldman, Nancy Wilson and countless others. John has also performed and or recorded with pop artists such as Natalie Cole, John Mayer, Alicia Keys, Joni Mitchell, Bono, Sting, James Taylor and Paul Simon. He has been active as a composer with fourteen solo recordings of his own and has been commissioned to write for various chamber music groups. John has performed as a soloist with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, the Estonian National Symphony, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the Trondheim Symphony of Norway, the St. Louis Symphony and the London Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Patitucci has been involved in education for many years, writing books, making instructional videos and giving master classes around the world. John was formerly the Artistic Director of The Bass Collective, a specialized school in New York and a Professor of Music at The City College of New York from 2002-2012. He is currently Visiting Scholar at Berklee College of Music’s Global Jazz Institute and launched his interactive online bass school through ArtistWorks (artistworks.com). The 2018-2019 season finds John continuing to tour with the Wayne Shorter Quartet, the Children of the Light Trio, his own group, the John Patitucci Electric Guitar Quartet, a reunion tour of the Chick Corea Elektric Band and the Chick Corea Akoustic Band. He is also involved in a collaboration with the Harlem String Quartet as a composer and a performer. John is currently recording a new solo bass album, which will be released in early 2019.

Chris Potter, sax: A world-class soloist, accomplished composer and formidable bandleader, saxophonist Chris Potter has emerged as a leading light of his generation. Down Beat called him “One of the most studied (and copied) saxophonists on the planet” while Jazz Times identified him as “a figure of international renown.” Jazz sax elder statesman Dave Liebman called him simply, “one of the best musicians around,” a sentiment shared by the readers of Down Beat in voting him second only to tenor sax great Sonny Rollins in the magazine’s 2008 Readers Poll.

A potent improvisor and the youngest musician ever to win Denmark’s Jazzpar Prize, Potter’s impressive discography includes 15 albums as a leader and sideman appearances on over 100 albums. He was nominated for a Grammy Award for his solo work on “In Vogue,” a track from Joanne Brackeen’s 1999 album Pink Elephant Magic, and was prominently featured on Steely Dan’s Grammy-winning album from 2000, Two Against Nature. He has performed or recorded with many of the leading names in jazz, such as Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, John Scofield, the Mingus Big Band, Jim Hall, Paul Motian, Dave Douglas, Ray Brown and many others.
