The Islamic Finance Question - This Saturday

One of the realities of living in today's complex world is the ubiquitous presence of interest in worldwide financial transactions. The very foundation of modern finance is based on interest, the antithesis to Islamic principle of fairness. Modern-day Islamic finance has been presented to be the solution, but there are many questions we still need to ask. Could Islamic finance have prevented the global financial crisis? Is Islamic finance truly different, or merely a play on words? Is there a difference between mortgage and the Islamic principle of Murabaha/Musharaka? What is the distinction between commercial insurance and takaful, as both provide life insurance?

This Course Lens will seek to answer these critical questions. Join Dr. Ashraf Muneeb on Saturday, May 1st at 5pm GMT on an exploration of Islamic finance in the modern world.

This event is free and open to all, but seats are limited. Pre-registration is required.
