Event description

Description

This three-day international interdisciplinary meeting of The Luce Irigaray Circle will be held at Brock’s downtown campus (June 14-16, 2018), the Marilyn I. Walker School for the Fine and Performing Arts, and is devoted to scholarship/creative work on, or inspired by, the thought of the contemporary French feminist thinker, Luce Irigaray. The conference theme, Horizons of Sexual Difference, brings Irigarayan scholarship into dialogue with recent discourses (i.e., trans, queer, Indigenous) in an effort to discover generative and productive sites in thinking that open up feminist thought.

Keynote Speakers:

Tawny Andersen
Gwen Benaway
Tina Chanter
Rachel Jones
Emily Anne Parker

Registration includes: daily local transportation back and forth from the conference hotel to the downtown campus, access to all three days of conference programming, including performances, conference refreshments, two lunches, and a final conference banquet (including transportation) at Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery, Niagara-on-the-Lake.
