8(a) Business Development Program: The 8(a) program, which is administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration, is a business development program intended to help small disadvantaged businesses compete in the American economy and access the Federal procurement market.

Participants in the 8(a) program can receive sole source contracts up to $4 Million for good and services and $7 Million for manufacturing.

Participants in the 8(a) program are also able to compete for contracts that have been set aside specifically for 8(a) firms.
