What should I bring?

Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillows, or any comfort items that will help you feel relaxed during the guided meditation and group Reiki session. You are welcome to bring a journal and water as well. The space will be cozy and supportive — come as you are and make yourself comfortable.

What about parking and public transportation?

Metered and zoned street parking is available near the studio. Yoga Heights Georgia Avenue is also conveniently located within walking distance of the Georgia Avenue–Petworth Metro Station on the Green Line.

Will refreshments be provided?

Yes, light refreshments will be provided after the session. You’re welcome to stay, connect, and ground yourself before heading back into your day.

Is Reiki a religion? Can it invite evil spirits?

No, Reiki is not a religion. It is an energy healing technique that promotes balance, relaxation, and overall well-being. Reiki does not involve religious doctrine or worship and is practiced across diverse belief systems. It is guided by the intention to support peace, clarity, and healing.

What should I wear to a Reiki session?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that allow you to fully relax. Think yoga pants, leggings, soft tops, and clean socks. We recommend layers so you can adjust to your comfort throughout the session.

Absolutely. Reiki pairs well with therapy, meditation, breathwork, yoga, or even physical training. It enhances your self-awareness and can support you through emotional or physical healing journeys.
