The INNER ATHLETE: Mindfulness and Mental Edge Workshop
Description
Those who succeed are able to consistently perform at their best, often defeating more talented competition. The difference? A winning mindset. This includes intrinsic confidence and motivation, the ability to reduce doubt and negative self-talk, staying poised under pressure, and performing your best when the stakes are high.
Join us for a 3-hour workshop where we will begin to train and develop your mental edge.
Young athletes are pushed to extraordinary limits. With year-round training, intense club and off-season competition, the pressures of a social media presence, and the demand for scholarships, now, more than ever do athletes need a strong mindset. Most spend their time on the skill of their sport and the fitness and conditioning level of their body, yet give little to no time to training their mind. Their mental strength and skill is a critical component to high performance, resilience and recovery, and overall wellbeing.
The workshop will incorporate the latest research and data in neuroscience and sport as well as activities from mPEAK (Mindfulness, Performance, Enhancement, Awareness, Knowledge), and MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction).
