The Inheritance Room
Overview
The Inheritance Room is a Harlem-based salon series created and curated by Hollis Heath — an intimate gathering space devoted to Black memory, lineage, and imagination.
Our first session arrives at a natural moment of reflection. As the year winds down, we come together to honor the memories, images, and experiences that shaped us — and to celebrate the parts of ourselves we want to carry forward.
Join Hollis in conversation with Thysha M. Shabazz (Senior Manager of Special Projects at The Schomburg Center & Cultural Producer), documentary film editor Samali Bikangaga (Stax: Soulsville USA, Muhammad Ali), and Natali Nicole (Healing Facilitator & Organizational Change Consultant) as they explore how personal archive lives in our families, bodies, rituals, and images.
Together, we'll reflect on the emotional and spiritual inheritance of this past year and the power of documenting our own stories. The evening will include guided reflection and an opportunity to be captured — creating your own piece of archive to take home.
This is a space for deep listening, reflection, and presence.
