Description

San Francisco actors group Ninjaz of Drama presents Oscar Wilde's acclaimed comedy, directed by Rey Carolino, he mounts the Play in mid 1960s England for a charming and witty anachronistic staging.

Company Biographies

Federico Edwards (Jack Worrhing) is a veteran performer of both east and west coast stage productions. He recently appeared in Multi Ethnic Theatre’s production of “Refugee Voices” and “Trojan Women”. A regular with Ninjaz of Drama since 2008, he has especially enjoyed romping through the classics- “Hamlet” (King Claudius, Ghost), “King Lear “Edmund”, the title role in “Othello”, “A Midsummer Night's Dream” (Bottom), “Much Ado About Nothing” (Benedict), “Romeo and Juliet” (Friar Lawrence); and with Theatre of Others- “ Measure for Measure” (Provost), “Taming of the Shrew” (Hortensio), the title role in “Cymbaline”, and “Merchant of Venice (Shylock). He wishes love to all.

Lijesh Krishnan (Algernon Moncrieff) grew up in Kuwait and his native India for spending a decade in the Twin Cities and its vibrant theater community. In the Bay Area, he has acted and directed with several companies including Theatre of Others, Actors Ensemble of Berkeley, Ninjaz of Drama, Those Women and Aluminous. His recent Shakespeare credits include Lysander, Hamlet, Edgar, Hotspur, Beatrice, Tranio, Falconbridge and Iachimo. Other roles include The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (Jesus), Pride and Prejudice (Darcy), The Understudies (Evadner), Killer Joe (Joe), The Balcony (Envoy).

Greg Gutting (Lady Bracknell) Fresh off a new found love for the works of William Shakespeare, Greg is thrilled to be working again with Ninjaz of Drama, where he recently appeared in "Hamlet" (First Player, Osric) and “King Lear” (Duke of Albany, Knight). For Theatre of Others, he recently appeared in "Comedy of Errors), The Roaring Girl" (Sir Alexander Wengrave), "Merchant of Venice" (Prince of Aragon), "King John" (A Lord), "Cymbeline" (First Lord, Gentleman), "Macbeth" (King Duncan), "Taming of the Shrew" (The Lord). Greg last appeared in Theatre of Others' presentation of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (Peter Quince).

Adrienne Dolan (Cecily). It has always been a girlish dream of Adrienne’s to perform in Earnest, and she absolutely adores playing Cecily. She earned her degree in Theatre from Belmont University in Nashville, TN and has been fortunate to act in the creative theatres of SF since she moved here three years ago, including her most recent role as French flight stewardess Jacqueline in Boeing Boeing. Adrienne is most ardently grateful to her friends and family for their love and support. She especially thanks her husband Taylor, who is her unwavering fan—even if his name isn’t Ernest.

Chelsea Jennings (Gwendolyn

Fairfex) is absolutely thrilled to be collaborating with Ninjaz of Drama again! Last December she appeared with the Ninjaz in “A Midsummer Night's Dream” (Hermia). With Theater of Others, she recently appeared in “Comedy of Errors” (Dromio of Syracuse), “All’s Well That Ends Well” (Lavatch the Clown), “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (Starveling, Mustardseed), and “The Roaring Girl” (Mistress Openwork, Sergeant Curtilax). Other favorite credits include “The Twilight Zone Parody Hour” (Dr. Loren) with Dreams on the Rocks, “Distracted” (Vera, Dr. Zavala) at Coastal Rep in Half Moon Bay, and “Peter Pansexual” (Pearl) in Montreal. Irina is forever grateful for the love and support of her family and countless amazing friends. Huge thanks!

David Richardson (Reverend Chasuble) would like to send a big thank you to his Grandma Flora Black for driving him to his very first audition as a star struck 10 year old. He didn’t get the part, but has been acting as often as anyone will let him ever since. His favorite role is always the one he is currently doing and his major talent is finding the very best teachers, most notably the late Linda Lowry. He is grateful to Rey Carolino for the opportunity to work with the Ninjaz for a second time, and to his husband Jose for never saying,”Oh my God, again?”

Pam Mangan (Lane/Merriman) is thrilled to be on her latest adventure with the Ninjaz Of Drama, her seventh production with them! Last December she returned to Shakespeare with the Ninjaz in “A Midsummer Night's Dream” as one of the Rude Mechanicals (Francis Flute)! Outside of work and plays, she performs rock flute and traditional Irish music. She lives in San Francisco with her wonderful boyfriend Randall and her derpy dog, d'Artagnan.

Polina Litvak (Stage-manager)is excited to be back for her third production and second stage management experience with Ninjaz of Drama. She has worked onstage and backstage at various companies throughout the Bay Area, including RE:ACT, Dragon Productions, Theater of Others, Actors Ensemble of Berkeley, and Theater Rhinoceros. Her past favorite roles include Tearcat in The Roaring Girl, Humphrey in The Knight of the Burning Pestle, and Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Taurean Feaster (Costumes) is a long time collaborator with Ninjaz of Drama as stage manager, costumer, board operator, stage technician, house manager, and box office manager. In addition to her work with Ninjaz of Drama, she has costumed shows for Theatre of Others and Pocket Opera. Ms. Feaster is thrilled to to work on this classic English comedy!

Jose Leiva (Set design) is a retired professional costume, make-up, and set designer. Mr. Leiva holds degrees from University of San Francisco and an MFA from Stanford University. Mr. Leiva taught Costume and Make-up design for 24 years in the Theatre Arts Dept at City College of San Francisco. He is a lifelong fan of science fiction writing and enjoys the concepts of differing realities.

Geoffrey Colton (Original Music) has composed and recorded original incidental music for Ninjaz of Drama’s productions of “King Lear”, “Hamlet”, “A Midsummer Night's Dream”. Mr. Colton is a 50+ years stage veteran and voice actor, and among the companies with which he’s appeared in plays and musicals are San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Contra Costa Civic Theatre, Ross Valley Players, Lamplighters, IAM Theater, New Conservatory Theatre, CalShakes, Berkeley Rep, and most recently with Ninjaz of Drama in the title role in “King Lear” and “Hamlet” (Polonius, Gravedigger).

Rey Carolino (Director) has been in theatre for almost thirty years as a actor, playwright, director, and producer. Among his favored classic plays he’s staged are “A Streetcar named Desire”, “Medea”, “A Midsummer Night's Dream”, “King Lear”, “Hamlet”, and now “The Importance of being Earnest”.
