There has been a lot of noise recently about terms like "bitcoin", "blockchain", and "cryptocurrency". Some of it is hype, but some of it points to important forces in the financial services industry. So, what does it all mean? Well on Thursday, May 30th, join Tech in Motion: Toronto to hear from blockchain experts and their application across different fields. This panel discussion will explore the current market including the digital currency's market value & more.

Zyshan Kaba, Venture Investor focusing on Financial Technology, Blockchain, and Cryptoassets

  • Zyshan is a corporate and securities lawyer by background and a venture investor and advisor that focuses on financial technology, blockchain, and cryptoassets. His experience covers a variety of areas, including legal counsel, business and regulatory strategy, product development, and raising venture capital. Zyshan is also a former executive of a venture backed financial technology company where he was Head of Business and Legal Affairs. Zyshan received his J.D.from the University of Toronto and is called to the bar in Ontario and the state of New York.

Graeme Moore, Vice President of Marketing at Polymath

  • Graeme Moore is the Vice President of Marketing at Polymath. Polymath is disrupting the legacy securities industry by launching an open platform that makes it easy for companies to issue financial securities on the blockchain. Prior to Polymath, Graeme has been the creative director at Spartan Race, an associate at Canada’s largest independent investment advisory firm, and an analyst at one of the world’s largest real estate brokerages.

Genia Mikhalchenko, Cryptocurrency Broker, Shorcan DCN (Digital Currency Network) at TMX Group

  • Genia is a cryptocurrency and business development professional and veteran of the Toronto technology startup ecosystem. He is currently the first cryptocurrency broker at ShorcanDCN, a newly launched divison of the TMX and the first digital asset brokerage backed by a public financial institution. Previously, he was a director at Toronto based think tank the Blockchain Research institute where he advised leaders in organizations such as IBM, Accenture, FedEX, Fujitsu, Tencent, Pepsico and the Canadian government (among others) on the various use cases, opportunities and current implementation challenges of blockchain technology.

Tracy Leparulo, Founder & CEO at Untraceable

  • Tracy Leparulo is a Blockchain Futurist in downtown Toronto and the Founder of Untraceable Inc. She is an early advocate for blockchain technology and is committed to growing an inclusive crypto community. In 2013, Tracy expanded her event management business and successfully launched Untraceable Inc. Since then, she has worked on various projects from wallets and exchanges, to certified training. Her and her team have also organized hundreds of events such as the first Ethereum hackathon in the world, the first Bitcoin Expo in Canada, ETHWaterloo, and the first securities token conference--Polycon. Her extensive event management experience and marketing expertise fuel her ability to create unforgettable events. As an entrepreneur and early crypto investor, Tracy always finds creative ways to seamlessly integrate innovative tech to create immersive experiences.

Suzanne Ennis, Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships at Shyft Network

  • Suzanne has spent the last 8 years in business development in the capital markets and crypto space. She recently joined the incredible team at Shyft. Shyft was created to solve real world problems using blockchain"s innovative technology as a base. Andrei Poliakov, President & Founder at Coinberry

  • Andrei Poliakov is a seasoned entrepreneur having previously launched and managed various start-ups with a strong focus on implementation and early-stage strategy development. Having finished the University of Toronto with a bachelor in Electrical Engineering, Andrei worked in the field of Business Consulting and IT solutions development before completing his MBA at York University, Schulich School of Business.
