Event description

Description

Are you taking all the necessary steps to ensure your adopted child has complete brain development so that they excel in school? Do they have any gaps in development that show up as oppositional defiance, sensory issues, speech delays, or other learning and behavior challenges? Join us for a fascinating look at your child’s brain development with neurodevelopment consultant Susan Phariss. Learn the basics of how primitive reflexes stimulate higher brain function and the root cause of learning or behavior challenges. Find out about the Bonding Reflex and how it affects kids who’ve been through adoption. You’ll also learn two fun activities to do at home that allow your child to calm down and sleep better.

Susan Phariss is a Neurodevelopment Consultant, Primitive Reflex Specialist, engineer, and brain development expert. Susan performed one of the first controlled studies in a public school helping kids overcome behavior and learning challenges using neurodevelopmental movements. She specializes in helping bright kids who struggle with learning and behavior challenges with her proven step-by-step process that stimulates higher brain function.

Adoption Knowledge Affiliates (AKA) is a gathering of people who understand that the feelings associated with adoption can come up again and again for any member of the adoption triad, in both open and closed adoptions. Whether you are a birth parent reflecting on the placement of your child, an adopted person grappling with the decision to search for your birth mother, or an adoptive parent contemplating how to answer questions for your child’s family tree school project, you are not alone.

Do you simply want to learn more about adoption? Would you like to serve as a resource to others in their adoption journey by sharing your own experiences and success stories? Regardless of where you are in the process, Adoption Knowledge Affiliates is here to support you.

Find out more about AKA at www.adoptionknowledge.org or via email aka@adoptionknowledge.org.
