As an employee in HR, you are often the go-to person not only for questions related to compliance, benefits, and company policy but also for how to best respond to and resolve employee performance, engagement, and talent development issues.

One of the greatest tools you can have in your HR toolbox is the ability to coach employees (particularly your young new hires) – one-on-one and in groups. Coaching, a confidential, empowering, and catalytic relationship, allows HR professionals to step out of “expert” status, meet employees where they are, and facilitate learning and growth so that employees become responsible for their own thinking and performance and can more effectively close the gap from where they are to where you (and they!) want them to be. By learning to ask better questions, mirror back what you hear being said (and not said), co-create means for assessment and accountability, make behavioral feedback an ongoing part of your company culture, you create the ability to develop employees who are keen problem solvers, innovative thinkers, and results-driven.

Join us for this three-webinar series

1) The Case for Coaching in HR - June 18 at 1:00pm ET: In Part I, participants explore what coaching is and how it is distinct and complementary to managing, training, and consulting. This session balances exploration of the business case for coaching with a thorough examination of International Coach Federation (ICF) core competencies: setting the foundation, co-creating the relationship, and communicating effectively.

2) The Coaching Skills Clinic – June 20 at 1:00PM ET: In Part II, we will focus on developing the mindset, behaviors, and skills to be a high-impact coach. Participants will learn how to facilitate a coaching session and develop the core skills of listening, questioning, strategizing, establishing trust, empowering, goal setting, and co-creating accountability. We will explore how to use coaching to get employees unstuck and to accelerate their performance.

3) Facilitating Feedback and Difficult Conversations – June 26 at 1:00PM ET; In Part III, participants focus their attention and development on using coaching in high-stakes workplace situations. They learn the do’s and don’ts of giving feedback that empowers employees to correct mistakes, identify and solidify high performance behaviors, and transfer insight into action and results. In addition, attention is given to utilizing coaching to diffuse conflict and repair broken relationships.
