This weekend experience is a great way to get out of the city into the beautiful Catskills, to take time learning about real things that matter, meet new people who share your values, and develop skills you can apply in your daily life.
The Hope/Hype of Renewable Energy workshop is an introduction to renewable energy, covering off-grid/on-grid solar, wind, and hydro, and an overview of the ethics and potential global impacts of "alternative" energy technologies.
Food, lodging (camping or cabin stay), and following programming is included in the price of the workshop pass.
Assemble an off-grid solar array. Build a solar oven and prepare a sun meal.
Tour state-of-the-art renewable energy infrastructure
Experiment with a miniature hydro-electric and wind turbine
Eat well + spend time on the farm!

I'm a vegetarian. Am I going to have fun at this event?
Yes! Brent is an amazing chef who specializes in vegetarian cuisine. If you have any dietary restrictions at all, contact us and we'll find ways to accommodate you.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
You only have to be over 18. There are no additional age limits or restrictions.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
We are a two hour drive from NYC, and only 10 minutes from the Shortline Bus terminal in Liberty, NY. Our address is 52 Lake Marie Rd. Liberty, NY 12754
Public Transit. Shortline Bus runs direct to Liberty, New York, and we can drive to pick you up from the bus stop. From NYC, the 12pm bus leaving Port Authority arrives in Liberty at 3pm. The 2:30pm bus arrives at 5:50pm, the 4:30pm bus arrives at 7pm, and the 6:30pm bus arrives at 9pm. On the way back, buses leave regularly from Liberty and Monticello. Click here for full schedule.
Rides and Rideshares. People come to our programs from all over the country and sometimes people drive from unexpected locations. If you're looking for a ride, even if it's from somewhere nearby, let us know and maybe we can hook you up! And if you're planning to drive and have space in your car, please please please let us know so we can connect you with a new friend who can chip in for gas money.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
If you plan to sleep in a tent, please bring all your own gear. If you are planning to sleep in a cabin, please being bedding and warm blanket / sleeping bag. Everyone should bring a good pair of waterproof boots (if it rains it can get muddy), a raincoat or poncho, and some warmer clothing (even in the summer the evenings can be chilly in the mountains). Once you register, we will send you a full packing list and details on what to bring.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes, just contact us to let us know who will be taking your place.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes, just contact us with updated information.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, we will have all your information before you arrive. You must purchase a ticket on Eventbrite before arrival.
What is the refund policy?
We will not be able to issue any refund 72 hours prior to the event. Before then, we can issue a 50% refund if you are unable to attend for any reason.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
