Can hoop around the waist the longest? Think you have what it takes to outlast everyone else?
Are you a hula hoop champion?
Compete for you chance to win and have tons of fun!!
Sunday May 3rd as part of the Buffalo History Museum’s Family day during the Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival.
The Hoopathon is an athletic competition to see whom can hula hoop around the waist the longest. There are 3 categories of competitors, adult, young adult and child with grand prizes for the winners and trophies for all placing contestants. Participants pay an entry fee for the contest, and all profits are going to the stewardship of the cherry trees and Friends of the Japanese Garden.
The Hoopathon started as away to bring more people together to be active and creative, along with raising money for a good cause. The inaugural Hoopathon was held at Campbell Student Union at Buffalo State College. Hundreds of hoops came to play fun games and see amazing performances from local hoopers, dancers and drummers.
