Generational Connections
This year's Luncheon theme is Generational Connections and aims to start a dialogue between seasoned practioners, judges and trailblazers and junior attorneys and rising stars within the BWLNC membership; featuring a keynote by Neha Sampat, Founder of GenLead.
Join us, invite a mentor / mentee / someone from a different generation, and commit to building stronger cross-generational relationships within BWLNC and our profession!
The Honorable Patricia Ann McKinley Memorial Luncheon was established to celebrate the life of Judge McKinley and honor the legacy of BWLNC. The Honorable Patricia Ann McKinley, a native of Richmond, California who was a founding member of Black Women Lawyers of Northern California, was appointed to the Bay Municipal Court by Governor Jerry Brown in 1982. At age 33, Judge McKinley was the youngest and first African-American woman ever appointed to that court, and after just three years on the bench, her colleagues named her Presiding Judge. In 1986, Judge McKinley tragically lost her battle with cancer at the age of 37 but her legacy lives on.
