Beloved Minnesota rockers The Honeydogs return to the stage after a year-long hiatus! A not-to-be-missed evening spanning the band's extensive body of work, along with an opening set by Ava Bella Levy.

After taking time away to explore multiple solo projects and other collaborations, members of The Honeydogs are coming back together for this very special show. Also of note: original drummer Noah Levy has recently reunited with his brother Adam Levy and the band after fifteen years away. The Honeydogs will explore their catalog of eleven or so records—and perform a few new, as of yet unrecorded songs. And Adam’s daughter Ava Bella, guitarist and singer-songwriter from the Minneapolis band Sapphire, will open the show with a special solo acoustic set.

The Honeydogs have been making music for a quarter of a century. Brothers Adam and Noah Levy started the band, merging Flying Burrito Brothers country rock with the punky energy of The Clash and swagger of The Rolling Stones. Joined by bassist Trent Norton and guitarist Tommy Borscheid, their first few records were guitar-driven affairs which garnered national media and radio attention. The band’s constant touring and energetic live shows earned them devoted fans across the country.

Their radio-friendly major label debut “Seen a Ghost” was followed by the haunting Jeff Lynn meets Beach Boys influenced “Here’s Luck.” The band’s sonic palette was changing and they added keyboardist Jeff Victor and guitarist Brian Halvorson.

The next outing was a Sci-Fi dystopian concept album called “10,000 Years” released on Aimee Mann’s United Artist Label. Entertainment Weekly described it as “what The Beatles would have sounded like if they had made it to the new millennium.” The record has become a fan favorite over the years. Shortly after the release of ‘10k,' Noah left the band and was replaced by drummer Peter Anderson, and keyboardist Jeff Victor left to be replaced by Peter Sands.

Successive records like “Amygdala,” “What Comes After” and “Love and Cannibalism” balance the band’s love of acoustic Americana with more experimental electronic textures and guitar-driven British pop & rock sounds. With the addition of guitarist Ryan Paul Plewacki, the band continues to dive into the past while setting sights on the future and drawing from international inspirations to create something ever-evolving and unique.

Plans are underway to record again.

Adam Levy still says he hasn’t written his best song yet.

Ava Bella Levy is the guitarist and singer-songwriter of the Minneapolis femme pop-punk band Sapphire. She is excited to kick-off the evening with a solo, relaxed acoustic sound!
