Description

The Pearls Foundation, an Arkansas 501(c)(3) whose mission is to implement programs that provide opportunities for educational advancement and quality of life improvements for the citizens of Faulkner and Pulaski Counties. With support from Operation AKA: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Chi Eta Omega and Theta Mu Chapters will host its 7th Annual Homeless Backpack Community Service Project.

We are asking you to partner with us in several ways:

  • Donate sturdy backpacks.

  • Donate funds to help secure documents for the Homeless.

  • Donate supplies including various items including items of personal hygiene, breakfast bars, snack mix, fruit cups, water, and crackers. We will also provide seasonal wraps including, sleeping bags, blankets, socks, scarves, gloves, hats, sweaters and coats.

  • Assist with packing the backpacks and distribution to those living without shelter as well as those seeking resources from The Jericho Way and Central Arkansas Women’s Shelter in Conway.

Donations can be brought to ScholarMade Achievement Place on Friday, January 18th located at 2410 S. Battery in Little Rock. Sorting and packing will take place Saturday January 19th from 9 am to 11 am at ScholarMade Achievement Place of Arkansas.

Distribution will begin at 11AM in various locations in Pulaski County.

This project is being done as part of the Dr. Martin Luther King Commemorative Service Impact Day.
