Event description

Description

Are you preparing to defend your dissertation this spring? Join the UWC's Graduate Writing Coordinators, Dr. Sara Saylor and Dr. Tom Lindsay, for an interactive workshop to map out the final steps of your doctoral degree process. We will focus on planning for Spring 2017 graduation, but all doctoral students are welcome to attend.

This workshop serves as a complement to the Graduate School's upcoming events, which will address official submission deadlines, copyright embargoes, and formatting templates. At the UWC event, writers will have the opportunity to:

  • Review OGS requirements for defense scheduling and draft submission

  • Draft a week-by-week calendar of the writing and revision tasks you need to complete this spring

  • Discuss strategies for communicating with your advisor and committee about spring graduation

  • Discuss strategies for organizing and sharing final diss drafts with your committee

  • Learn how the UWC can help to support and empower you during the home stretch!

No preparation required! We encourage writers to bring writing materials and a planner/calendar.
