Event description

Description

We each experience the holidays differently. For so many of us, the holidays means isolation; depression; and, facing family (or family rejection/trauma). In this two part series, we will explore the effect of the holidays on our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. This time of year can mean reaching for coping skills, and for many people that means alcohol, drugs, food, etc. We will explore healthy skills to navigate overwhelming feelings and ways to overcome the effect and impact of the "holidaze".

This series is relevant and appropriate for individuals and service providers. In part one, we will explore ways to prepare for the holidays. We will focus on ways to mentally and emotionally prepare ourselves, each other, and clients for weeks of capitalism and consumer culture. In part two, we will explore how to recover and heal from weeks of focusing on everyone else but ourselves. Part two is about aftercare -- we will explore meditations, ways to restore our energy, and learn ways to take care of ourselves as we begin the new year!
