Living Building Collaborative Chicago + Illinois Green Alliance + Passive House Alliance Chicago + AIA Chicago COTE + CNU Illinois + Open Architecture Chicago + International Building Performance Simulation Association Chicago Chapter

The Illinois Green Alliance (formerly USGBC-Illinois) is the local affiliate of the USGBC, a non-profit composed of leaders from every sector of the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. We work to achieve our mission through education, advocacy, and collaboration.

AIA Chicago’s Committee on the Environment (AIA COTE) engages architects to make Chicago and the region a more healthy and sustainable place to live. AIA COTE strives to provide members opportunities to expand their knowledge in the area of sustainability and assist others in designing and implementing carbon and energy reduction strategies in your professional projects and at home.

The Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU-Illinois) is dedicated to understanding how the quality of the built environment impacts our daily lives, and applying this knowledge to build vibrant and healthy communities. CNU is the leading organization promoting walkable, mixed-use neighborhood development, sustainable communities, and healthier living conditions.

Passive House Alliance-Chicago is a nonprofit organization promoting the Passive House Building Energy Standard through public outreach, networking opportunities, policy advocacy, and education of professionals and consumers. Members strive to create buildings with better indoor air quality, increased energy efficiency, greater energy independence and reduced carbon emissions.

Open Architecture Chicago believes in socially responsible design for our communities, nonprofit organizations, families, and individuals in Chicago. We believe in activism in our neighborhoods working collaboratively with community partners developing relationships with those that we serve by fostering a shared passion for clean, healthy, and sustainable spaces.

Living Building Challenge Collaborative: Chicago is a community-based, in-person group of Living Building Challenge Ambassadors that provides an opportunity for informal learning experiences and advances community transformation. Collaborative members create the local conditions that allow for development of Living Buildings, Sites and Neighborhoods.

International Building Performance Simulation Association Chicago Chapter is an officially-recognized affiiliate of IBPSA.  Locally, we recognize there is a growing community of building performance modelers.  This includes consulting engineers, architects, energy service contractors, reasearchers, and academics who all have interest in some ascpect of building simulation.  Our goal is to provide networking and educational opportunities for interested professionals in and around Chicago.
