The Hip-Hop Nucleus is a documentary on the legendary Tunnel Nightclub of New York City which some call the Studio 54 of Hip-Hop. The Tunnel opened in 1994 and closed in May 2001. Artist who are multi millionaires now like Jay-Z, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, LL Cool J, Funkmaster Flex all performed at the Tunnel. Most of their careers started in the Tunnel and it was a big part of their rise to success. The Tunnel was also the most dangerous club in New York City being that the Sunday night Hip-Hop party had the toughest crowd in the city. Due to the constant violence and murder the Tunnel was eventually closed and it's owner Peter Gatien was deported back to his home Canada. This film is a must see. It's a nostalgic piece on a big part of the Golden Era in Hip-Hop history. Hear it from the people who were there. The Security, staff, DJ's, artist and patrons give their testimony on the club most people feared to enter. The Tunnel.
