Event description

Description

The HBCU Museum (HBCUM) is partnering with Black Student Fund to celebrate its one year grand opening anniversary!!! Join us Thursday, February 28, 2019 at our Anniversary Scholarship Fundraiser for Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow at The HBCU Museum located at 7610A Georgia Ave NW, Washington D.C. 20012.

We will present a special evening of fine dining, musical entertainment, and breath taking presentations focused on history, legacy, and importance of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Proceeds from the event will go toward loan repayment stipends for trailblazing graduates of HBCUs in service to the community; current HBCUs students of note and for scholarships for high school seniors committed to attending HBCUs. We are extending an invitation for a powerful cause!

HBCUM Mission Statement:

The HBCUM brings historical exhibitions and collections, scholastic programs and people together for reflection, research, discovery, learning, celebrating achievements and enjoyment that will strengthen and sustain our community in the years and decades to come. It is our mission and aim to show how HBCUS and their graduates have made vital contributions to the United States despite some of the greatest odds stacked against them. We strive to create a place where people of every background can be touched and changed by having access to our resources and information that tell our story and history of challenges and triumph. Our goal is to highlight the accomplishments of not only HBCUs, but some of their most accomplished graduates.

Please help make a difference in our historically black institutions by contributing to the success of this fundraising event. Your attendance and support will be much appreciated. See you there!
