Description
"The Happiness Effect"
Overview: New evidence suggests that employees' emotions are directly correlated to their performance. Traditionally, Quality has been about discovering weaknesses and portrays employee well-being as a side effect of quality improvement. Over the past decade, however, evidence has shown that the opposite is true -- employee well-being is a driver of performance. In this virtual presentation, the author will explore the effect of positive psychology on organizational performance and the importance of ensuring employee satisfaction.
About the Presenter: Dr. Brooks Carder is a principal of Carder and Associates, LLC in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, CA, and an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Point Loma Nazarene University. He earned a doctorate in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and began his career as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at UCLA. He has run both for-profit and not-for-profit businesses, and is the author of over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and two books. Dr. Carder is a senior member of ASQ and the Chair of ASQ’s Human Development and Leadership Division.
