The Great Writing Adventure

During the Great Writing Adventure, students will use journals and clues to guide their trip through the many exhibits of the museum. All activities are connected to Oklahoma Academic Standards.

Students will be able to explore all exhibits including the Rainforest Adventure exhibit!

Each teacher may bring 5 students per adult, grades Kdg-6th. Parents and student teachers are welcome, too. Register soon. Spaces are limited!

The day will begin with Write to Win Celebration recognizing 2023 Elementary winners. All winners from the OWP “Write to Win” contest are encouraged to attend. All participants attending conference will receive a copy of the 2023 Write to Win Anthology. Teacher may bring students in addition to winning writers.

After celebration, participants will be given a journal to begin the GREAT WRITING ADVENTURE!

9:30-10:00--- Registration/Check In

10:00-11:00--- 2023 Write to Win Celebration of Winning Writers

Each attendee will receive a copy of the 2023 Write to Win Anthology where winners writing is published.

11:00-12:30--- The GREAT WRITING ADVENTURE Begins

Each participant will be given a writing journal to use as a guide around the museum. It will be a fun writing time as students explore the musuem.

12:30 Event Ends

Schools may return to school or lunch in the area. Reaves Park 2501 Jenkins Avenue, Norman, Ok 73072 is close to the museum with picnic tables and Kidspace Playground.
