Event description

Description

In the beginning of the 21st century Slovakia re-joined Europe and Slovaks, alongside 100 million new EU citizens, gained the freedom to move West without a visa. Now, over a decade after the East-West exodus, Slovakia’s lost daughters and sons are coming home, proving that return is not just a possibility, but an opportunity.

Tatra Banka and Global Slovakia are proud to invite you to an exciting new event. Please come and join us for an evening of fun, discussion and broadening horizons as we explore the transformation of Slovakia through our young people coming home!

The lively panel discussion and book launch, will include four dynamic returnees that are game-changers in Slovak business, government and society. They will share their stories, alongside a presentation by the author, Zuzana Palovic.

Panel guests are:

Moderator: Zuzana Palovic (Book Author; Slovak-Canadian Emigrant and Returnee, PhD in Return Migraiton and Knowledge Transfer)

1) Peter Irikovsky (CEO Exponea)

2) Vladimira Ledecka (Office of the President)

3) Peter Janicina (U Kubistu Bistro Owner)

4) Luka Brase (International Visual Artist)

Followed by an intimate closing acoustic performance by the multi-talented singer and song writer Jana Andevska

Refreshments will be provided alongside an opportunity to network with other esteemed guests, including business leaders, friends of Slovakia and pioneering returnees.

We look forward to seeing you there!

*The Great Return is a 300-page coffee table book that offers 58 portraits taken by Zuzana Burdanova, whose conscious photography captures the energetic imprint of each of her subjects.
