The world-renown Great Drikung Phowa is especially auspicious during a full moon in a Monkey Year. January 12, 2017 is the full moon during this Retreat. The Phowa practice is the most direct and quickest method by which ones may be assured of a positive rebirth and possibly enlightenment at the time of death. During this retreat, attendees will have the same opportunity of receiving and practice the Phowa transmission and teachings as did many hundreds of thousands of people in Tibet and other practitioners around the worlld.
This simple and yet powerful Phowa practice has been transmitted from the time of Lord Jigten Sumgon [Founder of the Drikung Kagyu Linage – thought of as the second Buddha] through the successive line of the Drikung Kagyu lineage holders till today. Due to the accumulated energy of the Drikung Kagyu lineage and the blessing of the teaching itself, the qualified Lama, who continues the line of succession of the Drikung Phowa lineage of gurus, is able to directly transfer the blessings of this practice to the pure, devoted disciples and render the practice safe as such blessings will flow unhampered to the disciples and bring with them quick results.
