The Graduate Series!

For those who graduated from the daily grind and are young at heart.

Join us at NBN Go South for a three part series exploring the traditions and culture of our Ethiopian-Israeli community members. The sessions are listed in detail below.


Oct. 25th: 10:00-12:30 - The first session would be in the matnas in Yud Aleph (Mordechai Namir 11), it will be a conversation about the richness of Ethiopian tradition as well as a workshop with Ethiopian pottery. (Transportation will not be provided)

Nov. 22nd- 10:00-13:00

We will meet at the Ethiopian Jewish Heritage Center (same place as last time) Mivtza Uvda 53

We will continue the story, Naftali will expand upon what happened to the community once they came to Israel, the challenges they faced and how it impacted second generation Ethiopian Israelis.

We will then have a traditional vegetarian Ethiopian lunch and Naftali will explain the importance of the food in Ethiopian culture.

Dec. 20th- 10:00-13:00 The third session will be in Kiryat Gat (shderot Abetz Kiryat Gat - אתאכלית in google) (Transportation will be provided from Be'er Sheva, location to be determined) where they will learn about the difficulties the community faced upon arriving in Israel, the issues created within families and how young activists are taking charge and creating programs to help integrate the older population.
