Join us for a special Valentine's Day show featuring The Gold Souls and The Midnight Dip! The dance floor will be open for this show, and we'll have special offerings at the bar. Students get an extra discount for this show--50% off!
The Gold Souls bring the driving grooves of funk, the rich textures of soul, and the compelling storytelling of the blues to the Northern California scene and beyond. Drawing from a variety of influences and experiences, they deliver compelling lyrics and fresh arrangements over a vintage sound. The Gold Souls are known for producing innovative and captivating original music that rings true to the idioms that inspire them. Led by the dynamic Juniper Waller, the group is made up of young talent hailing from the Bay and Sacramento areas.
The group burst onto the Sacramento music scene in early 2017 and are swiftly becoming one of the most promising new talents in the area. Their single, “Nobody,” was released in late 2017 and was featured on Apple Music Blues’ Hot Tracks list. They released their full-length album Good To Feel on June 22, 2018. This past summer The Gold Souls played the prestigious Concerts in the Park series in Downtown Sacramento.
The Midnight Dip is a Davis-based soul band with a twist, taking inspiration from jazz, swing, funk and rock. The five-piece band is led by the sassy Liz Kat, whose voice is mesmerizing and soulful with an undeniable depth of feeling. The Midnight Dip is everything sweet and salty, with sultry tunes and danceable beats.
On September 21st, The Midnight Dip debuted their first EP, i hear voices. The EP contains five unique songs, ranging from jazz to polka to funk, each with powerful and emotional messages to inspire hurt people to persevere.
Doors open at 7:30 PM. Music begins at 8:00 PM. There will be two 45-60 minute sets with a short intermission.FAQs:
-Can I reserve a seat? Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis; we do not generally reserve seats unless special accommodations are required. Please contact us at palms@palmsplayhouse.com if you need assistance with seating.
-Are children allowed? Yes, we are an all-ages venue. It's up to the parents to decide if the content is appropriate for their children.
-Are you ADA accessible? Yes, there is an elevator to the second floor, and the bathrooms are accessible. Please contact us ahead of time if you need seating accommodations.
-What's your refund policy? Please contact us before the day of the show; in most cases, we will be able to provide a refund of the ticket price (fees are non-refundable).
-Where can I park? Plan to arrive early to find the best parking; you should be able to find a space within four blocks of The Palms. You can either park on the street or in a nearby lot; all public parking in Winters is free.
