The Global Challenge Final
Mon, May 1, 2017, 2:30 PM – 7:30 PM BST
Join us in Oxford for The Global Challenge Final.
Tackling our most complex global challenges requires an understanding of both the root problems and their wider context.
On Monday, 1st May from 2:30pm - 7:30pm, join us at the Saïd Business School for The Global Challenge 2017 Final, where teams from post-secondary institutions from across the globe will compete to win cash and prizes.
Come learn, network, and cheer on the final six teams as they present to an international panel of judges.
Launched by the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Oxford, The Global Challenge combats the rise of heropreneurship, a growing trend where people jump to solutions before fully understanding the social problem. Instead, The Global Challenge awards students for demonstrating a deep understanding of the social and environmental challenges they care about.
The event will feature a special keynote address from Cheryl Dahle, founder of Future of Fish and judge of The Global Challenge.
Cheryl is an entrepreneur and journalist who works at the intersection of business and social change. Along with a team of designers, scientists, researchers and entrepreneurs, she creates and tests new ways to solve large-scale, systemic problems. How do you achieve systems change to world-scale challenges? Cheryl will share her real-life examples of how complex challenges can be addressed by taking a ‘systems thinking’ approach.
